Fall 2022 in SW Colorado
Day 9
Day nine found Captain Colorado and myself pretty well rested compared to what we thought we'd be. We each expected we'd get about two broken-up hours of sleep total, but ended up sleeping most of the night. We also expected it to be freezing cold and that never really happened either. Now, don't get me wrong, we were cold, just not as much as we expected. Crawling out of the tent in the morning still had us shivering at first. Tho, by the time the sun rose, we were fine temp-wise. Image-wise, that's another story. What a boring sunrise. I didn’t take a good picture of Chimney Rock on this particular morning, so all you get is a pic of me. (Thanks for the shot, Capt’n.)

Since the sunrise wasn't particularly amazing, we spent a bit of time posing for images while standing out on a rocky point and scoping out what might hopefully be easier routes up to where we were. That hike was terribly difficult.
We ended up choosing a route down that we thought might be an easier way up for next time. It did seem as if it'd be easier, but not easy by any means.
After climbing down from the Cimarron Cliffs, we unpacked our bags, packed our vehicles, and parted ways. The Good Captain was headed home and I was headed toward tomorrow's picnic gathering with friends.
Well, for now, this will conclude my 2022 Fall Colors Road trip! There is a small amount more, two days worth actually, but conditions were a bit boring and since I was set on both shooting certain settings and being home on a certain date, I shot boring shots at great locations. Right now, I’m off to Canada, again. Conditions, currently, look as if they will be great! (*knocks on wood desk.)
I’ll catch y’all later! Thanks for reading! :-)
