Delica l300 Roof Rack

I had wanted a roof rack for a considerable amount of time, as it felt like a necessary addition to my vehicle. I’d even been engaged in detailed discussions with the manufacturer, Xplormor Offroad, for an extended period – two years to be exact. As it would turn out, this lengthy wait would ultimately be what enabled me to become the proud owner of an aluminum roof rack instead of a heavier steel roof rack. To be clear, the wait was primarily on my end, as I am a patient researcher who values thoroughness. Additionally, the idea of the substantial weight savings afforded by the aluminum rack, combined with its modular design, was an aspect that seemed incredibly appealing to me.

I decided that I’d use only money generated by my photography to purchase the roof rack. This added to the length of time that I’d have to wait on the rack, but I’d have to be fine with that. With print sales, calendar sales, instructing, and funds generated through Facebook, I finally raised enough to smash the purchase button on my roof rack.

Roof Rack Delivery From Xplormor Offroad

The roof rack came delivered in three separate boxes, each carefully packed and organized. From what I could tell upon initial examination of the packages, the condition of the rack looked to be in excellent shape, as there was no visible damage to the boxes at all. Each box seemed to be secured well and intact, which gave me confidence that the contents inside were equally well-protected during transportation.

I have absolutely ZERO complaints concerning the packaging that went into getting the rack delivered. At first, I was baffled at how to open the boxes as I was trying to preserve them. Eventually, I simply tore into them like a six year old at a birthday party.

The meticulous care that Xplormor Offroad employed to ensure that each individual item arrived in pristine condition is truly and greatly appreciated! Xplormor Offroad took great care and attention to detail in making it very easy to determine what specific hardware corresponded with each item. Here, you can see the side rail hardware thoughtfully wrapped alongside the side rail itself. Kudos to them for the exceptional and thoughtful individual parts wrappings!

The Drip Rail Mounts, as well as their accompanying hardware, were meticulously wrapped and made easily identifiable. The individual packaging for the mounts, along with their necessary hardware, deserves kudos for the effective and thoughtful ease of organization on my end! The assembly images above illustrate the installation process for the Drip Rail Mount. Each mount fits snugly and securely along the Delica’s drip rail, ensuring a stable and reliable attachment.

All of the hardware components required for the individual parts of the roof rack were clearly labeled and organized for convenience. A special thanks goes out to Xplormor Offroad for their efforts! The provided hardware is truly a perfect fit, ensuring an easy assembly process. Additionally, the channels in the extruded aluminum offer nearly unlimited mounting opportunities, making customization a breeze!

The Grid Panels were neatly boxed together, accompanied by their respective hardware for easy assembly. Each Grid Panel was carefully wrapped individually within the confines of the box to ensure protection during transit. Moreover, every single Grid Panel was thoughtfully padded and wrapped to prevent any damage. The hardware associated with the Grid Panels was clearly identifiable, making it convenient for me to locate what I needed. Great work, Xplormor Offroad!

The assembly of the Modular Aluminum Roof Rack from Xplormor Offroad was surprisingly simple and quick, making it an enjoyable experience. Loosely mount the sections first to ensure everything aligns properly. Only tighten the connections once the entire assembly is complete and secure. Also, keep in mind any future applications you may have for the rack to ensure you install it in a way that best suits your needs. In my case, I wanted to install storage boxes in areas #1 and #2, a spare tire in area #3, and a tool bag in the remaining area in the right-hand corner opposite of my rear ladder.

There are many different variations in which this versatile modular roof rack from Xplormor Offroad can be purchased or configured to suit individual needs. For my setup, I chose to place my basket close to the front of the vehicle, with my extension located in the rear section, and I decided to position my wind deflector both up front and down low. This particular position of the wind deflector was carefully selected to allow me the flexibility to install additional lighting across the top and front of the rack in the future, creating even more functionality and utility for my adventures. Future posts showing storage boxes and lighting will be added to this blog soon.

So far, the Xplormor Offroad Rack’s thoughtful design, solid packaging, straightforward ease of installation, impressive functionality, and overall aesthetic looks make this an easy recommendation for anyone considering a new addition to their setup!
